Originally, I wasn’t sure I was going to sign up for this workshop. There was something there. Something that keep drawing me in - checking the website, checking the Facebook page, asking the universe if this was a workshop for me, then selling a light system to come up with the money to attend! Yes, I was meant to go! It was a really tough decision though! The workshop cost was equivalent to 5 months of my studio rent. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Was this the right workshop for me? I bit the bullet and signed up!
My first day, My flight out was uneventful. I met up with two workshop attendees, Christine and Craig and we shared a ride to the hotel. Checked into our rooms, dropped off our bags and then headed down tot the restaurant for a bite to eat. One by one, others trickled in! There were quite a few with purple hair...various shades and lengths. I love it! Creativity!
Our Workshop started with a welcome dinner Wednesday evening - with everyone there, we introduced ourselves and the conversations began. A wonderful dinner and an outline of what all was going to take place during this week.
Thursday was spent working with Amy and photographing in low light then photographing in the hotel.
Friday was spent at Novelty Hill Januik Winery photographing people and their dogs around the winery.
Saturday was spent at a house where we worked a commercial product session.
Sunday and Monday were spent learning the ins and out of commercial photography.
It rained the whole week we were here with little moments where the drops would stop. I actually walked down to see the famous Market and both days I was pretty early. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous. I could have stayed and played there all day! One problem...there was also an amazing French Bakery just across the street with the BEST baked goods and bread EVER!!!!
To sum the week up, it was amazing, truly amazing.
