Oh Dot...you are a Dog Photographers DREAM to photograph. You sit still...really, really REALLY still and you know how to pose. You have the perfect head tilt when you want and your jewelry is the envy of all your girlfriends!
Seriously, I could not have asked for a better office manager, chair hog, food vulture, snuggle bug than my little Dot. Especially when I get a wild hair and decide that I am going to set up my 4x5 camera with the new 300mm lens for portraits. So, I decided to pull out my really, really, REALLY old Polaroid Type 59 4x5 film (expired in 1997) and run it through the view camera in with a little hope and major crossed fingers - that it would maybe work? I know, I have used a lot of really’s in these two paragraphs.
It worked - for the most part. I honestly didn’t think I was going to get anything and there is an image! WooHoo! So since things looked half way decent on the Polaroid, I decided to expose a couple of sheets of Ilford FP4+. Well, I have to wait to develop them,I don’t have the correct developer for that particular film. It has been ordered and is on it’s way. So much fun! I had to really slow down and make sure that I metered everything correctly (and I still don’t know for sure if I did) but the Polaroid looked pretty darn good for a 22 year old Polaroid!
I took a few behind the scenes photos of Dot posing!
She is so stinking cute!!!
