Two weeks ago Sunday, I drove down to Santa Barbara. Dot was suppose to be my sidekick during this adventure, but she decided at the last minute that she was going to be sick. Yup, eating grass and throwing up sick. Well, that just was not an option for me to take her with me. I stayed my first night in Santa Barbara because I did not want to drive all the way down to Camarillo in one day. That is a lot of driving. I spent a quiet evening, had In-nOut Burger for dinner - so good. I took my time Monday morning before heading to Thousand Oaks where my host lived. Monday and Tuesday nights I was staying at a CIPPA (Channel Islands Professional Photographers Association) host. I arrived around 12:30. It was absolutely beautiful outside. We met and it was almost as if we had known each other for years. We had a very nice yummy lunch and then she headed out to run some errands and I took a nap. We headed over to the hotel for the CIPPA meeting around 5pm. We set everything up and at 7:00pm it was time to start.
I always have butterflies just prior to giving a presentation. Maybe everyone goes through that, I don't know, but I always think about things like, what if I start choking or what if my stomach starts acting up, or I trip and fall or my computer crashes...
Of course, non of those things happened...but it still gives me butterflies. Then all of a sudden, I am talking and showing pictures and giving examples and time is standing still and no more butterflies and I am loving what I am doing.
I had a great time, everyone at CIPPA was so wonderful and welcoming and made giving my program presentation easy. There were quite a few great questions and an hour and a half later, I was done. During practice, my presentation is about an hour long, but I want people to be able to ask questions and be a part of the process.
A few images from the workshop and a few behind the scenes too!
A super huge thank you to every one at CIPPA, Darrel, Larry, Kim Steve, Randi - you all made my time with you super fun! A super duper huge thank you to everyone that attended and for the fabulous behind-the-scene photos! Thank you
