Professional Photographers of LA County Dog Photography Workshop

I wasn't sure this workshop was even going to happen....I mean, Mother Nature threw a curve ball Wednesday night that put the brakes on a whole lot of flights out of San Francisco (amongst other places). I was suppose to fly into LAX Thursday afternoon, my flight was delayed...then it was really delayed. I wasn't even going to make the meeting to give my presentation. Then it was cancelled. The flight after mine was sold out, and even though it was originally to leave 30 minutes after mine (originally)... it was delayed to an arrival of around 11pm. So, I cancelled my Thursday flight and grabbed a flight out Friday - there was only one flight left, all of the others were sold out! Yikes! I booked it!
My friend Sharon, picked me up from LAX and we went and grabbed a quick bite to eat. We dropped my stuff off at my hotel and wondered down to the beach where I grabbed a few photos. The beaches in Southern California are so different from the beaches near me.
After a little time photographing the beautiful sunset filled with birds and surfers, it was off to a local Mexican Restaurant for the BEST Margaritas EVER!!!! Complimented by chips and salsa which was followed by a HUGE plate of nachos! Great conversation, fabulous food and drink and a short walk back to my hotel and it was time to catch some ZZZZ's. We had an early start in the morning! What a great turn out too! We had three fabulous pups to work with. Cookie who was the cutest Pug Terrier mix with a natural mohawk that was too die for and we also had two beautiful American Eskimo Dogs Kiki and Kia with us. They were a blast!
Working with all three dogs both separately and together, we set up a number of different shooting possibilities and lighting scenarios. Beings that I was the one working with the dogs most frequently, I didn't get the "money" shots like a few of the attendees did but I did get a few that I really liked!!! There were some really great pictures to be had.
