I wrote this on what would have been Gromit's birthday, but just couldn't get myself to post it. It is hard seeing it in black and white.
Today, Gromit would have turned 8. It breaks my heart that so many pups lose their lives to cancer at such a young age. It doesn't help that he truly was my heart and soul, that he really helped me through some very funky stuff. That he help me build my business. Today, Gromit would have turned 8 years old. It has been 10 months since his passing and there are times when I feel him next to me. He brought me Dot. I truly believe that. She is his presence in a body 1/9th the size. She has a super huge personality and at 7 months, she has posing down to a science....sometimes!
I have so many photos of Gromit from the day we brought him home to the day before he passed. Everyday I cherish those photos and those memories and that he came into my life when he did. It was with his help and guidance that I started photographing dogs - seriously photographing dogs.
Happy Birthday big guy - pumpkin man, skippy doodles, gromlet, gromalito, Mr. man, skippy doodles, bone head, etc... You will forever be in my heart! I love you and I miss you!
